The Word Curry

The Word Curry!

So, let’s shelve the history and debate about the word “curry”,  and talk about how we do things at Karmana. Our meals don’t rely on some generic sauce; instead, each dish is carefully prepared with its own unique sauce. From aubergines, cauliflowers, and spinach to our favorite veggie creation—Master Tickle—a mix of potatoes, mushrooms, peppers, and cauliflower. Served with your choice of tofu or vegetables, it’s all brought together in a special vegan sauce.

At Karmana, the choice of herbs and ingredients isn’t casual. This knowledge has been passed down by our ancestors and developed through the wisdom of Ayurveda. Our goal is to enhance the nutritional value of each dish, rather than focusing on contrasting flavors that might taste good but won’t really bless your body. Ayurveda teaches that food is medicine, and when we honor this principle, our meals become nourishing on a deeper level. The right blend of herbs and spices isn’t just for flavor—it’s about creating balance, health, and vitality in each bite.

Take turmeric, for example. It’s only recently that we’ve begun to appreciate its benefits in the Western world—health food shops now sell turmeric tablets—but for thousands of years, it has been used in ancient cultures as a healing, anti-inflammatory spice.

At Karmana, we believe that when mindful ingredients are prepared with care, the body flourishes. So, next time you’re at Karmana, try our Master Tickle!
